volunteer CALM Board Application and Volunteer Sign-up Thank you for your interest in the California Association of Licensed Midwives There are many ways to get involved in the organization and we are excited that you are considering joining our board of directors or volunteering. As a board member or volunteer, you will serve as an advocate and ambassador for midwife profession in California while learning new skills, making new friends, having some fun and expanding your sphere in influence. Time commitment is 3-5 hours per week including board meetings. We seek a diversity of skills, backgrounds, knowledge, culture and ethnicity, and other characteristics among people who live in California to complement our current board memberships and volunteer teams. CALM bylaws require that Board Members are California licensed midwives and CALM members in good standing. Volunteers and non-director officers (i.e. secretary or treasurer) need not necessarily be licensed midwives. Volunteers: If your background and experience fits with our current needs for a specific opening then we will follow up with you with next steps. Board applicates: You have likely already been nominated and/or invited to join the board after a vetting and interview process. Subsequently, the CALM membership will ratify your appointment to the board.
